Two Months without a Post

Time gets away from you when you are having fun. At least, we tell ourselves we are having fun so that it seems less bad that we have let things fall through the cracks. The funny thing is I am not the least bit worried about not updating for two months. My family and I have spent the time preparing to travel and actually traveling to China to get our daughter. In early June, my wife and I traveled to China, to the Anhui province, in the city of Hefei to pick up our new daughter Julia. We spent a lot of time blogging about the adventure over at the DuBose-Schmitts.

Upon our return on July 1, we have been getting used to our new family — three daughters instead of two, a shared room instead of your own space, a language barrier where no previously existed, a five year old in a house used to 10 and up, and stress from all of the above. We have been blanketed in prayer by friends and family. We are eternally grateful. We are excited and nervous about what our family will look like in a year, and we are trusting God through it all to work as He will.

We have a group at FBC who will be memorizing Colossians this fall. I am excited about it, and hope to post about what we learn as we “delight in the law [instruction] of the Lord, and on his law meditate day and night”!
